The action group connects public and private health networks and serves as a platform of knowledge and support to the local and regional community.

Aims:
  • To explore health-care resources already available in the Forres area
  • To identify what health related benefits the available resources serve.
  • To encourage, expand and implement the evolution of health-care and well-being services.
  • To create an action plan of how these services can work together effectively in times of urgent community needs (eg. Epedemics, natural disasters).
  • To encourage individual awareness of health-care issues and help people recognise themselves as resources.
  • To initiate networking between resources.
  • To inspire involvement in and develop an 'integrative healthcare framework'.

The group is currently planning a two-day seminar in the near future. (See Fundraising for more details.)

Transition Town Forres

Transtion Towns is a global movement that works by raising awareness, uniting people together, forming groups, building bridges and running projects that actively promote change “from fossel fuel dependency to a more sustainable and resilient way of life”. The Shen Foundation has become part of Transition Town Forres and one of our team has become one of its directors. We care deeply about the work of TTF and intend to help out as much as we can to make their dreams and goals – which are also ours - a reality for our town and neighbourhood. We are also working in conjunction with them through our Health and Well-Being Group (see above).
Please check out www.TTForres.org for more details.

Eco-House

The Shen Foundation is in the process of building an eco-house on our land at Robinhill. This eco-house will expand the space to provide a home for more Shen Foundation team members. It is important to us that this eco-house is harmonious with nature and humanity - in the materials used, the way it is powered and how we use it. We intend for it to be a carbon neutral dwelling, and are currently working on how to provide power for Shen land and our local community.

Steps:
  1. Make house plan drawings.
  2. Get planning permission.
  3. Fundraise for the whole project.
  4. Research different methods and materials to build the eco house with.
  5. Choose best method for building eco-house.
  6. Design self-sustaining features eg. Heating, lighting, power sources etc.
  7. Get building warrant.
  8. Build eco-house.
  9. Move in!

Today, we are currently on steps 3 and 4. Any donations of skills, knowledge or money to this project would be very much appreciated
More to come!

Global Projects

The Shen Foundation is the base of a global network committed to lasting harmony and transformation. As such, we have Shen Team members dotted around the globe, working on projects to achieve this aim and unite us all.
Here are a few examples of the global projects which the Shen Foundation is currently involved in:

Project Mingueo, Colombia

Fabiola Fuentes, a great friend of and volunteer here at the Shen Foundation, has created and devoted her life to her Project Mingueo.
Based in Colombia, its mission is to support the impoverished and displaced people and create sustainable communities there, to improve their quality of life. These communities will have a strong connection to their local physical, mental, natural and financial resources and a holistic world view.
The word “Mingueo” comes from the Quechua language and represents an ancient tradition of community and/or collective work since pre-Columbian times. It is a collaborative system which is constantly fed from all of the contributions and spirit created within it.
This project has several aspects to it:

Project aspects:
WATER:
Water is vitally important for the communities, in order to produce and secure food for their survival. In December 2010, we provided them with a pump and pipes so they can start irrigating crops and later we will design with the communities a more sustainable project on rain water harvesting and education in permaculture.
EDUCATION:
A group of teenagers intend to start a venture to use the numerous mangos which are found everywhere in the local city of Valledupar in Colombia where the pilot project is based. They will process them into juices and other products. The profits derived from this project will help finance students through College and support other community projects. Project Mingueo is currently fundraising to provide them with training and essential equipment to get them started.
SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE:
One of the objectives of the project is create a bank of instruments for young people, and provide them with a supportive space to practice and perform. Not only this, but it will provide them with jobs and their lives will be given meaning. This will prevent them getting involved in violence.
WORKING TOGETHER:
Colombia has the second highest number of displaced people in the world. The region where the project is based is one of the most affected areas. Our project aims to enable displaced people living in poor conditions in the city, into recycling and composting the organic matter found in the area and use it to restore the land of the rural communities nearby.
LOCAL ECONOMY:
The purpose of this project is the achieve local economic development through maximising the use of local resources to improve income and standards of living within the communities WHILST ensuring people’s incomes flow back into the local economy. This includes fair-trade micro-enterprises for hand-crafts people.
ECO-VILLAGE:
Several universities in the UK are working with the community of Los Olivos to create a comprehensive research project and design an innovative model of rural eco-living for the local people. This model includes eco-housing, sanitation, off-grid power, waste management and water provision – such as providing wells for much needed water.
The Shen Foundation 100% supports Fabiola and the Mingueo Project. We are working to help spread information about and find sponsorship for it. We also intend to provide ongoing personal and soul support for Fabiola and whoever in her team may need it in the future.

Funding Opportunities

There are many ways in which you can help and support the Shen Foundation in our mission of personal and global transformation. One of these ways is through funding.

A Funding Invitation

We invite you to support our mission by giving an amount of your choosing to the Shen Foundation. Each and every donation we receive is used to support our mission and expand the services we offer, for the benefit of all. Every little helps and we deeply value and appreciate each gift we are given.

Funding Projects

Here at the Shen Foundation, we are currently running several short and long term projects in line with our mission vision. Some of these need funding in order to continue, expand or be completed.

Below is an outline of these projects, and of the funding opportunites each one presents. You can get more information about some of the projects by clicking on the link underneath the project name.

You are welcome to donate to that/those projects which resonate deeply with you, or else simply entrust us to use your donation where it will be of the most help.

ECOLOGY

Our ecology vision is to create self-sustainable high-tech eco-communities. We will do this in areas which are ready, willing and able to support life in a safe and harmonious way.

The following ecology projects are open to funding, and support this vision:

House Upgrade:

The Shen Foundation team were gifted with a beautiful house here in Forres. It is currently not eco-friendly, and although we are taking small steps all the time to make it so, funding would ensure this process was speeded up and completed.

    Aims:
  • To ensure the current Shen house and grounds are completely eco-friendly.
  • To create a carbon-neutral dwelling.
  • For the current house to become completely self-sufficient.
  • Estimated cost:£500,000.

Eco-House:

(Local Projects)
This is the first stage of a long-term project to expand our headquarters here in Forres by creating an eco-house on Shen Foundation land.

Planning permission for this building has already been given.

We are awaiting fundraising to begin the next part of the project.

    Aims:
  • To create a new self-sustainable eco-dwelling to house more volunteers and expand the Shen team.
  • To help expand our global networks.
  • Estimated cost: £300,000

Mobile Eco-Dwellings:

We are currently researching mobile eco-dwellings which we can erect on our land to house the many volunteers and guests who pass through our home for different amounts of time. These dwellings will be simple, eco-friendly and long-lasting in Scottish weather! We are currently looking at buying some yurts from Inner Mongolia for this purpose.

    Aims:
  • To house volunteers and visitors in a comfortable, efficient way on Shen land.
  • Little impact on the environment - made form simple, natural materials.
  • Easy to erect and maintain.
  • Safe and sturdy in all weather!
  • Estimated cost for 10 Yurts: £100,000

WELL-BEING

The Shen Foundation well-being vision is to prevent further disaster on a personal and global scale, and improve community life, health-care and well-being.
The following well-being projects are open to funding, and support this vision:

AURA MACHINE:

The Aura Machine was created by an international collaboration of people. It is able to detect the human aura and evaluate the pysiological, psychological and pathological states of whomever uses it. The Aura Machine was created by applying mathematical and physical theries of electromagnetic fields and wave quantities (coherence) to a combination of light from the invisible spectrum and different radiation wavelengths in minute quantities. It was developed over the past several decades.

    Aims:
  • To deepen understanding of human energy fields.
  • To allow for research and study of the aura and energy fields in a scientific and physical way.
  • To experience the aura and energy fields with 3D senses.
  • To produce more effective methods of training.
  • To help raise the human vibration.
  • Estimated cost of machine (room size): £54,000,000,000!

OTHER

There are several other aspects of Shen Foundation life which would benefit from funding input.

    These include:
  • The upkeep of Information Technology systems.
  • Training events.
  • Garden transformations.
  • Shen Foundation staff currently work around the clock as volunteers without pay. In time, we hope this will change, to create further sustainability and balance within the team and so allow us to give more.
